All Dressed for Christmas

The girls have to pick out and wear Christmas Dresses every year. This year they choose the same dress and they had to take a picture in front of our Christmas Tree. It was one of the best pictures that we have from the girls!!!

Family Pictures

Every year we like to take new family pictures and give them (and hopefully recieve them) as gifts for christmas. As we were getting ready to decided on pictures this year my oldest brother (who is making that big jump into homeownership) did them as a gift for us. We went out to Fairmont Park in Riverside and took pictures out on a bridge just as the sun was setting. Here are the best of the photos...

All I want for Christmas is my bottom tooth!

I can't believe that we have a child that has lost a tooth already. About a week ago Kyla came to us saying that her tooth was loose. She spent about a week wiggling it and playing with it. Last night Sean finally helped finish the tooth and Kyla lost her first tooth. She was so excited and loves the "hole in her mouth". The tooth fairy knew that a first tooth is very important and she gave Kyla a unicorn stuffed animal. She loves her doll that she calls Princess. It is so exciting to see new stages of life coming to pass and it is also heart breaking to see how fast my girls are growing up.

Trick or Treat

This was a fun Halloween. Kyla knew what was coming and enjoyed every second of it and the anticipation of it. Aubree caught on really well. We started the festivities at our ward trunk or treat. The girls had a lot of fun with their friends from church. That is were Aubree learned what it means to go trick or treating. We then had school on the day of Halloween. Kyla was allowed to wear her costume to school and participated in the parade the school had. I had to dress up for school also which meant that I had to work on sewing Kyla's costume and my own. That night we got dressed up and as a family went trick or treating. The girls had so much fun, but learned they didn't want to walk that much and we had to pull them in the wagon.

School Awards

In October Bautista Creek had the first awards ceremony for Kindergarten. Kyla recieved an award for being an honest student. She was so proud and excited. We are so proud of how how well she is doing in school. She really loves to go to school and is at the top of her class.

Now they are 5 and 3

The girls are growing up so fast. It is amazing how quick the time goes. Back in September the girls celebrated their birthday in a small family way. We had their party to celebrate Kyla's fifth and Aubree's third birthday. The night before the party we went to Red Robin that just opened in Hemet. The waiter found out that it was both the girl's birthday's and brought a Turlte Pie slice. It was great and tasted so good Aubree decided she couldn't stop. The next day we went to the park and had a small amount of family join us for a party with a few friends that stopped by. It was a great day to just celebrate another great year for the girls with close friends and family.

First day of school

This posting is pretty late but I had to make sure that everyone saw Aubree's first day of Pre school picture. She was so cute. She really loves to go to school and has really grown a lot since she has been going. So much that she finally decided to get potty trained. Here are the two photos from that morning.

Fun in the SUN!!!

This year we have been spending more time outdoors at the beach or at water parks. We recently bought a season pass to Knott's Soak City and will be spending a lot of time there. When we travel to San Diego for two weeks while Sean attends his Electric Car Conversion class that he has been excited about, the girls and I will be spending time at Soak city and the museums in Balboa. Here are some of our favorite photos, we will post more as we take them...

New Second Home

After staying weekend on our old travel trailer, we can to an important realization. We realized that our trailer was just not fit for our family, so we did like to always do, traded it in on a bigger, better brand new unit. Although this unit is heaver and larger, it is worth it. We were able to get a killer deal on the unit and make it worth the trade.

Winter Wonderland.... in May

We had been planning for months to go up to Idyllwild to go camping. The weekend before was over 100 degrees and we were looking forward to getting into our bathing suits and swimming. We went up on Tuesday before memorial weekend and dropped off the trailer. On that Thursday as I was driving home from work I drove right through a tornado that touched down in Moreno Valley and left ice and snow all over the 60 fwy. As I thought that was crazy, we left Friday afternoon for Idyllwild only to find SNOW all over the ground, and not just a small amount of snow, about two feet!!! Here is the view from our trailer when we arrived...

The girls have never really been in snow, especially freah powdery snow. Then again neither has Sean. They had so much fun playing in the snow.

Here is the video of the first snow ball fight both the girls and Sean had.... Ever!

End of Soccer

Soccer season has come to a close. Kyla had a blast playing soccer and can not wait for another season to start. She proudly shows everyone her trophy. We are glad to have our schedule a little cleared up and not so busy.

Christ Centered Home

Besides our backyard, we have added new decoration to the house. With the help of Josh and Brittanie, we have added a wall at the entrance to the house that helps us focus and everyone who enters our home, to realize that we have a home that is focused on Christ. One of the tiles has one of my favorite quotes from President Hinkley that we like to live by.

High Flying

Kyla recieved a kite last Christmas and has been wanting to fly it, we finally got the chance on the first beach trip of the year.

University Graduation

I was fortunate enough to have one of the best photographers do a graduation shoot with me for my graduation announcements. If you are looking for an amazing photographer, even for kids, check out her blog under connections.

First Soccer Game

Kyla has now started indoor soccer with Valley Wide. She loves her coach Josh and loves to play. She had her first game on Saturday and had fun. She learned she needs to eat more veggies and less sugar so she doesn't get so tired! She has nine more games and plenty of practices so hopefully she will get stronger and have a lot of fun.

Easter

Easter was fun at the Painter house. The morning started out with finding Easter Eggs and opening baskets. We then headed to church where Grandma Painter and April joined us. We then headed home to change and spend the day at Ryan and Jessica's house. We had fun finding more Easter Eggs, having dinner, jumping in the jumper, and playing volleyball.

The Garden Project

These are the photos of the new garden project. We have done a lot of work and still have more to go. We pulled out 6 inches of dirt, then built the raised bed boxes out of really expensive wood. We then had 20 yards of compost dumped in front of our house that we then had to have placed in the boxes. We have since placed a water system which we still have more work to do, planted an avocado tree, lemon tree, and peach tree. We have also planted two blueberry trees and strawberries. We still have a lot more to do, but we are excited to have the great veggies and fruits that it will produce!!

Funny Girl

Aubree loves to do some on the silliest things. She decided that it was very cold out and needed a beanie, but would only wear panties!!

Wow! This is new!

This is the first time that I have really been on anything like this. Not only do I not have the time, I never really understood these, but here I go! I hope that I am able to keep up with this thing!!
